err...

  • Mood: tired, hungry, headachy, irritable
おっと. ;;;

So these (Diaryland, Bravejournal) have, i suppose, been sorely neglected in favor of other sites. This is partially because of certain sites' ability to afford for much more privacy, as well as, really, more interaction. A site like LiveJournal allows you to read other's material easily, & commenting is easier as well: for one thing, it lets you know when, & you can reply directly to any comment. So, really, it became more habitual to use LJ than either of these other things, especially when no one really reads them. -shrug- That & it simply felt ridiculous copy pasting shit everywhere; i mean come on. Really.

So. No idea what i'll do with the things, then, if anything at all. I don't know about the Bravejournal one especially, since i've never really used it for anything too worthwhile, but the Diaryland one has sentimental value & some use to it, since it goes back to... eighth grade? I think? But i guess if you really want to find me, there's links on sidebars that should do that. Though i don't know why you'd want to do that. :\

Dammit, feel hungry & want coffee at the same time. And wish i'd brought my laptop. :\\\\

IMPORTANT

i realize now i do not fear death... i fear my daughter will not be free when i die

- From the Twitter of an Iranian medical student

"If it bothers you so much, then why don't you stop watching?" seems to be the question of the last few days from my friends and family who know how invested I have become in the cause of the Iranian people (as I have explained in great detail here) The answer is simple: one day of caring is not enough. We must be the voice for the people of Iran who would otherwise be silenced. They are without reliable news sources, they are without mobile phone calls, text messaging, facebook, twitter, youtube, AIM, Yahoo, Google, and pretty much every other useful outlet for information you can think of. Yet they persist on the streets and on the internet in any way they can. The least we can do, whether we are across continents, oceans, or time zones, is spread their words safely.

My death is irrelevant.Wht is important is that u do not forget my words. We want freedom.i will die 4that

- From the Twitter of a protester in Tehran

Right now, brave men and women in Iran, both young and old, are sacrificing their lives for their voices to be heard. They must fear not only the police, but also the Basij -a force of men loyal to the government who plant themselves among crowds in plain clothes in order to discretely attack protesters and incite chaos. The protesters are peaceful. They mass together in crowds that are reported to grow in size every day. At night they have very few, if any, safe places to stay. Houses with satelite dishes were attacked by the Basij tonight, and during the 50 minutes of Twitter's maintenance, another university was attacked.

140 characters is a novel when you're being shot at.

- From another Iranian Twitter

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?

  1. The most obvious thing to do is stay informed. Keep an eye on reliable sources on Twitter, refresh blogs and news sites that are covering the stories.

  2. If you are on twitter, retweet information from reliable twitters, but REMOVE THE USERNAME if they are in Iran. People have died because of the lack of responsibility by fellow tweeters and the media in this front. They can be tracked down by the government of Iran.

  3. Spread the information elsewhere. Repost this article or write your own on Facebook, Myspace, Tumblr, or anywhere else you can think of. If you write your own, make sure you are concise and accurate. Link to your sources for people to learn more.

  4. Discretely change your location on Twitter to Tehran or Iran, and your time zone to GMT +3:30. Don't post to brag about how you did it, otherwise it was useless.

  5. DO NOT auto-refresh and take down websites, even if you are asked. It slows down the internet for the rest of the people in Iran.

  6. If you make a proxy DO NOT post it publically, otherwise it is useless. Send it in a direct message to a trusted source.

  7. DO NOT spam the hash tag #IranElection with useless things to "confuse the government". This does not help at all.

UWAAAAHHH.

  • Mood: OHMYGODYES
  • Music: In the Mood-- Glenn Miller
B-b-be right back, currently fangirling over my country. (diesdiesdies) Why does our printer have no ink?! Uwaaaa, America!♥♥♥

Oh my god, this fandom is amazing. I looked through the Hug Project art submissions yesterday after classes & could not stop grinning. (Look at this one! And look what happened to the page!) Being in the library, i'm sure someone saw my face & was disturbed (but not as disturbed as i was to find people's, erm, personal porn on the computer. Ignore! Ignore!); haha.

I made my first sale on Etsy, too. That was a surprise.

Amd oh, Thailand! He looks like James Potter, aha! (is shot) And who knew there were so many Hetalia people in Maryland?

Andandandandand i have a USxUK doujin coming in the mail sometime soon! I have no idea what it'll be like, though, so, erm, slightly worried on that.

Oh, speaking of England: fish & their snow. Russia doesn't love us (bwaha), & yesterday, the local news had a story that featured Londoners slipping down stairs. Oh England.♥ They talked to the mayor outside, with Tower Bridge in the background ("YOU ARE HERE" much?), & it's windy out & the man's hair looks like it's trying to take flight, so i didn't hear what he said because it killed me laughing. "Let's interview you out in the cold!" Brilliant idea, that.

....ohmygodineedtostoplookingatthatitmakesmefangirl. XD (is shot) Now there just needs to be something like this for everyone else....

These jeans need to be patched so badly; i didn't realize. I'm embarrassed now, but they were the only clean ones... Ahh, & i was doing so well, too. I need more button-down shirts... (thumb twiddle) Oh, & i paid a dollar for hot water this morning. It was supposed to be cocoa, & the machine gave me water. If tea bags or something were readily available, this would have been fine, but.... I wasted a dollar on hot water. Nnngh.

In case you haven't seen this, ever, you are missing out:

This movie was so on drugs; holy crap. And the ending? That was beyond lame.

Dear Japan...

  • Mood: distressed
  • Music: The Winner-- Hagita Mitsuo
I am glad that you have moved on since, y'know, Prince of Space & Invasion of the Neptune Men.

Especially Invasion of the Neptune Men. It makes Prince of Space look like Oscar material. Such a bad movie. Beyond bad. The Hitler Building is pretty much the funniest thing in there. To quote Tom Servo (well, halfway): "I know a song about stock footage! TAKE IT AND STUFF IT, MOVIE!"

"He's not even Space Chief, he's more like... Lower Atmosphere Chief."

I was going to do a meme, but my answers were so drop-dead lame, that i decided against it. But i did learn something over break (if only just a few days ago): Sumuuzu, written in katakana, does not refer to the singing globs of purple goo with the bulging eyes of my youth. It means "smooth." Since i found this in a Hetalia doujin, i was slightly worried (why is Arthur watching My Little Pony...?).

For funny pictures, see previous post.

Speaking of pictures, when one draws something so moe (am i using that right; referring to dictionary here) it's not even funny, does one share it with the world or does one tuck it away somewhere so they'll never be embarrassed?

Also wrote the e-mails to the state representatives concerning The Senator. No one listen to the media; they've got it all wrong, especially the jerk from The Sun. I mean, honestly. It's not about the money this time.

Back to school (well, college) tomorrow. Art history (Figure in Western Art? I think?) & History of the Chesapeake; see how that one goes. (John Smith: This place is awesome!" Fast forward to today: "D'you know, i think the bay is dying a slow, painful death?" Augh.)

Ah well. (sigh)

Ireland claims i've won the lottery

  • Mood: hyper
In an insanely randomly decent mood-- i haven't eaten much, slept much, & i tried some exercise yesterday, so! That's all good. The past two days i haven't eaten much at all, which is ace, & the sleeping thing is funny, because i only slept for four hours yesterday (from ~8 am- ~1 pm), but i didn't fall asleep at all after that. I spent all day sitting on my rear translating a Hetalia doujinshi. The person who shared it said they were doing it, but i thought it'd be nice to give translating something short a go, so that's what i did. There's some elusive kanji still to find & other things to try & figure out (i thought "yarou" was "bastard"?), but i get the general gist of what's being said. Plus, i've been listening to this song almost constantly that its it ridiculously well, or maybe that's just me.

But whatever; i thought it would be fun to make a post comprised entirely of demented pictures. I have amassed quite a collection of them, so now it's only a matter of getting Photobucket to behave & load them.

"I have your burger, Alfred Jones! Come and get me!"
"Um, I don't think you should've antagonized him...."

BWAHA.

Someone had this as an icon.

GANDALF'S JUST SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU!! Oh god, run.

....what?

Artscape 2008, apparently.

I miss this Engrish site. (It doesn't work anymore.) The caption to it read something like, "The most concise summary of LotR yet!"

Where did i find this again?

Hey, one of those teddy bears is sticking his tongue out.

XTREME IRONING.

I miss the real Iron Chef.

Someone on the Hetalia friending meme had this. xD

How can i take your anger seriously when you're so funny?

Ok, i lied. BWAHA, DARREL'S FACE.

When Pfund (sorry, Kayleigh! xD) & Emily first saw Naked Daniel Radcliffe. Speaking of which...

I don't think i have Janna's version, which is priceless.

o_.;

Who else remembers this?! XD

DUN DUN DUNNNNNN.

Oh, if only.

xD

How about pants? D'you need those?

OR NOT.

Nice screencap, there. xD

Oh yes. 8D

Could say that for other things, too, huh? |D

Dave Tango wearing the tiara. Steve told him it was a head lamp or something & he believed him. XXXXXXXXXD O DAVE.

XD Data.

Best for last:

First time i saw this, i laughed so hard i cried. I never do that!

This is our most desperate hour

  • Mood: determined
This is serious. The amazing Senator Theatre is thisclose to being fucked over & closed. Their move to nonprofit has been stalled, & they need people to write the "elected officials" to tell them to come to the table & help. Yeah, i know, "elected official"= politician= person who sits on their ass doing nothing. But people getting that kind of thing done are doing more than the lame-ass media, who was there sighing, swearing, rolling their eyes. I came so close to killing the little indie poser sitting behind me from The Sun. DON'T READ HIS ARTICLE. He was being a total annoying fool. Keifaber said that if The Senator doesn't get help ASAP, closure is imminent. The Sun jerk was all, "What's 'imminent'?" An older man said, "Does it matter?" Sun jerk says, "Well, yeah--" "No, it doesn't." Nobody knows WHEN, you thick-headed cretin, just that if help doesn't come it. Will. HAPPEN. We don't know when exactly the world will end, but we know it is imminent; it WILL come. Get a clue. Idiot.

In 2007, the crisis was financial. The internet helped then. Sweden, Switzerland, & the UK sent money to help. (You have. No idea. How happy. This made me. I tried to hide my idiotic grin at the mere thought of it.) People from everywhere helped, saying things like, "This can't happen," & "If it's going to happen to The Senator, then what chance would our own little theatre have?"

The Senator ran itself into debt helping out the surrounding area, & now the city is going to let it fail? People have to just write people & make them listen; grab O'Malley by his ears & tie him down & make someone do something. This theatre has been around since the late 1930s & is the last single screen theatre left in Baltimore, if not Maryland as a whole. I've been there for Trilogy Tuesday, for the midnight & final shows of The Revenge of the Sith; i've seen Goblet of Fire & Order of the Phoenix's midnight shows there. Simply put: You will not have the same experience at a lame multiplex theatre chain. You won't have people waiting in the Line, you won't have the person running the theatre getting into it. The community needs this theatre as much as the theatre needs the community. This theatre helped the surrounding community get back on its feet, & it got into debt as its reward.

People may say, "Well, the economic crisis..." Um, excuse me. The Great Depression. People went to see movies. It was an escape, it was something they could do for a while. Not only that, but the above mentioned midnight shows are literally geek fests. People drive by & hurl ice & sling insults; they're the immature ones; who cares. In an economic crisis, what better time to keep something like this alive? Not only will it help the community & the surrounding economy, it might even help boost people's spirits. Only the "historical facade" is protected; if The Senator is lost, anybody can come in & completely & utterly ruin it in anyway they like. Keifaber (the owner) put it pretty well when he said, "And if you're a Star Wars fan: The Rebel base is under attack."

So, seriously, people: "Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope."

And some kid's "advice" to the new President, as broadcast on Cartoon Network? "Change the world"? Haha, America is not the world, hon, that'll piss people off. IT GAVE ME A HUGE, HUGE HETALIA MOMENT. Oh, Alfred.

Speaking of which, the fact that people like this makes me grin like an idiot & yet feel really... ah. I don't know.

so:

  • Mood: cold
I finished that Hetalia picture a while ago. This is for anyone who isn't in the Hetalia LJ community & doesn't have DeviantArt, & who wants to see it (though i don't know why.... it didn't really come out how i wanted, really). (If you've seen it already, just ignore it.)

It's kind of big.

It's here, too.

Room is almost entirely moved in, i think. Mostly just need the storage tower in & some more of my crap, but the major furniture is in there. Just need a bookcase. (Oh, right, erm, i "moved in" Monday. I just never said anything. So for the first time ever, my brother & i have seperate rooms. I printed out the old character things of England, America, & Liet, plus a little thing of Canada, & stuck them on my wall; haha.)

Look at this. So amazing.

Also, it has been brought to my attention that i should cosplay as Lithuania for this upcoming Otakon. So i would need a uniform (anyone know of any ace army surplus stores around here?), green contact lenses (oh, money, money), & & i'd need to cut my hair again. It hasn't been growing at all, really. I cut it months ago & it's only a bit past my shoulders. (Is there any reason for this to happen? Hell, is there any reason why i keep getting unexplained marks/scratches on me? I swear the one is like a scar; it's even raised. I need to get a doctor...) Oh, & boots, those might be helpful. (Lithuania)

Sorry if this all bores people to death/near death, but it's my newest fandom, so it's kind of my "thing" for right now, if you take my meaning. Which, actually, makes it difficult to try & read Johnathan Strange & Mr Norrel.

question:

I know, another post already. But, um, question.

Does this look ok?:

Compositionally.

It's England & America from Hetalia, & i wanted them to both be in the same picture, but... i think America is kind of being more overpowering (haha)...? Or would it still work to keep England in there? (Drew his hands in; he's pulling on his right glove.) Any color or whatever will also continue onto the next page (at least the lower half of the page), even though i've got a bunch of writing on it.

Oh, & England's head looks a little off, but am not sure if that's just me or what. Don't think the camera's angle affected it much; the drawing doesn't seem much warped. And, um, Alfred's hips are maybe too thin...? But he's right on the edge of the page, so.

Aaaaagh.

Plus, i thought maybe this would make this LJ more interesting. HAHAHA. (is shot)

Aaaaaaagh.
