  • Music: Ce He Mise le Ulaingi? The Two Trees-- Loreena McKennitt
It's a sad day when even an established corporation-- & thus something that one would assume to be at least somewhat smart-- cannot distinguish between "its" & "it's." Honestly, it is not that difficult. I'm horrible with grammar & even i know the basics. Ninety-five dollars for the room for Otakon by July 7th. Damn. Despite misgivings about public transportation (not that i've ever used it), am seriously considering it, though don't know where i'd go, nor do i know any of the routes. One way is over a dollar; have no money on me. A job would be extremely helpful right about now. Or being commissioned or having something bought off of me, though hopefully certain stores will aid me in that regard. ...simply posting because it's the first of June. Stupid reason, & i don't even like summer, but there you are. MD Faerie Festival this Saturday (going alone, which should prove interesting. I don't mind), then Janna's birthday party Sunday (need to get her something). Movie & book meme stolen from Orangeblossom: Name a movie that you really wish would be re-made so they’d get it right.: Dracula. At least keep the modifications minor (like get rid of the whole "women are weak" bullshit). No Mina loving Dracula, no Seward being anyone's father (because that is very, very weird). Name a book you’d like to see made into a movie.: Charles de Lint's Moonheart & Samantha Hunt's The Invention of Everything Else. Name a book you hope is never made into a movie, because they’d ruin it.: ...Contradicting the last statement, Moonheart & Invention of Everything Else, simply because they're told in layers that would be difficult to translate onscreen, i think. Especially the latter; some things you just need to read, as opposed to seeing in a movie. Name a stage show (musical or not) you hope is never made into a movie, because they’d ruin it; or that you wish had never been made into a movie, because they did ruin it!: N/A. How often do you watch movies at home, as opposed to in the theatre? (The other half of the original question!): Comapred to going to the theatre, much more. But overall, i think i watch TV a lot less than the "average" person, & this includes movies. I just don't find it interesting most of the time to just sit there & watch; i'm always doing something else along with the TV being on. The exception is when in the theatre, not only because it's dark, but it's something that i actually want to see. How many movies do you own?: Personally, probably fifteen movies. How many TV shows (shows and/or number of seasons)?: The first season of Ghost Hunters, a Sailor Moon DVD, & a few Doctor Who DVDs (one Third Doctor; most are Fourth). First two Saiyuki DVDs, & a few other anime ones. Never a complete season. Any other DVD watchables that are neither movies nor TV shows?: Imaginations Through the Looking Glass (Blind Guardian). How often do you re-watch DVDs?: Depends. Not very often, though. What’s your video equivalent of comfort food?: Probably Stardust (which i like a lot despite being vastly different from the book). Have you ever read a book because the movie was really good?: No, don't think so. Usually will read the book before seeing the movie, so i know what really happens. Have you ever read a book because the movie was really bad?: No. Have you ever refused to see a movie because the book was really good? Really bad?: No. Name a book that was made into a good movie, especially if you didn't think it could be done.: Usually don't think that, but I liked LotR, despite all the changes, even the ones that made no sense (Elves at Helm's Deep? Frodo showing the Nazgûl the Ring? Aragorn wavering when he looked into the Palatír (though, granted, you never know what happens there; it just doesn't seem like him)? Aragorn wavering all the time, period?). Name a movie that you’d like to see re-made with your Dream Cast, and some key members of that cast.: Have no dream cast. I don't really pay too much attention to Names. Map of the Eldar's sky. (So Sirius is Helluin?)
